He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Edward LaFountain and Lulabelle Whitaker (Smith); his son Bill; and his sisters, Joyce Markle and Bette Kollar.
He is survived by: his wife Willametta Whitaker (Runyan) of Anderson; his daughters, Julie Gentry (Max) of Anderson and Connie Reding (Bill) of Anderson; his grandsons, Jay Gentry (Maria), Mark Gentry (Amy) and Jonathan Reding (Toni); and his great grandchildren, Allison, Mallory Gentry, Alexander Gentry and Levi Reding. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
