Austin Nakai Rees Obituary

Austin Nakai Rees passed away on November 25, 2023 at the age of 28. Austin was born in Anderson, Indiana on July 18th, 1995 to his loving parents Jamie Kemp and Mark Rees. Austin's sudden departure leaves behind a hole in the hearts of his family and friends.

In his younger years, Austin loved skateboarding, concerts, fishing with his Papaw Rees, playing baseball, and hanging out with his friends. In recent years he added new hobbies to his list of favorite things to do such as street hockey, making music, taking pictures, and continued to love his friends and family.

Austin was proceeded in death by his baby brother, Jaxen Kemp, Grandparents: Densel Scott, Debbie Kemp, and Peggy Miller.

Austin is survived by his mother Jamie Kemp (David), Brother Kaleb Kemp, Father Mark Rees (Tiffany) (Stacy), Brothers Chris Shoemaker (Taylor), Austin Anderson (Shelby), Brandon Shoemaker, and Elton Rees (Sierra). Nieces: Delilah and Ava; Nephew Kane; Grandparents: Mark and Mary Rees, Jim and Brenda Helpling, Mark Kemp, Debbie Scott, Harold and Francis Brinkley; Aunts and Uncles: Kim Powers (Raymond), Kristien Rees (Luciano Stoican), Amber Graham, Candace Harp, Abby Kemp, Steve Kemp (Michele), Andy Kemp, Ryan Rennier (Courtney), and Steve Brinkley; Cousins: Brandon Paxton, Rileigh Graham, Sydney Graham, Taylor Kaprice Imperial, Isabella Stoican, Brooklynn Stoican, Kaity Emery (Rob), Emily Stoll (Tyler), Kacey Mahoney (Brandon), Erynn Powers, Grance Kemp, Sophia Kemp, Joseph Hardin, Mackenzie Kemp, Landon Rennier and Chael Rennier; second cousins: Ella and Anna Powers, Kenny and Ray Powers; as well as many other members of extended family and friends.

A service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home on Tuesday December 5th, 2023, at 4pm, with visitation from 1pm to 4pm.
