Thanet L. Sommers Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thanet L. Sommers of Amboy, Indiana, born in Miami, Indiana, who passed away on August 8, 2022 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Allen and Thelma Powell Allen; her husband Samuel Sommers; and her sister Pearline Shafer. She is survived by: her children, Mitch Sommers (Kim) of Peru and Rose Brown (John) of Peru; her sister Janet Layman (Gene) of Peru; her siblings-in-law, Lorn Shafer of Amboy and Barbara Sommers of Greentown; her grandchildren, Michael Sommers (Kayan), Kirstyn Sommers (Brent Yard), Curtis Brown (Geneva Kabat) and Eric Brown; and her great grandchild Zella Sommers. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home to the Miami County Historical Society or the Amboy Volunteer Fire Department.
