He was predeceased by: his parents, Jenny Wilson and Joseph A. Shanley; his wife Barbara; and his children, Joseph R. Shanley and Lisa Buck.
He is survived by: his daughter Joann Bussen (Drew); his nieces, Nancy Garcia and Diana Reismiller (Phil); his nephew Bud Richardson; and his cousin Carol Teaff-Oberman (Mark). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
