He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Dockrey and Irene Dockrey (Key); his former wife Linda Libler Dockrey; his siblings, David Dockrey, Phil Dockrey and Linda Hoerling (Dockrey); his stepson Leonard Little; his granddaughter Lindsay Powers; and his sister-in-law Merl Harris.

He is survived by: his wife Marcella M. Dockrey (Swift); his children, Cheri Brown (Warren) of Alexandria, Nancy Sherfick (Mark) of Alexandria and John Paul Dockrey (Lisa) of Alexandria; his stepdaughters, Enva Sue Powers of Alexandria and Tabatha "Tabby" Brown (Sam) of Mooresville; his sisters, Patricia Capps of North Carolina and Cynthia Barricklow (Thomas) of Alexandria; and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Davis of Elwood and Freda Dockrey of Alexandria. He is also survived by 17 Grandchildren, 27 Great-Grandchildren.
