He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Lee Hurst, Sr. and Mildred June Bumgardner; and his brothers, Charles F. Tracy and Donnie Hurst. He is survived by: his wife Diane Lynn Lienerth; and his children, Shelly M. Recker of Kendallville, Robin M. Burianek (Jason) of Halem, NE, Betty J. Hurst of Columbia City, Brianne Lortie (Kevin) of Columbia City, Audrey Frankart (Ben) of Albion, Richard J. Hurst, II (Alyse) of Roanoke and Becca A. Hatfield (Jake) of Fort Wayne. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Richard's honor are to the American Kidney Foundation.
