He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred King and Rizzie Sparks; his daughter Tammy Noe; and his siblings, Billy Ray and Ruby Sparks.

He is survived by: his wife Lee Tipton of Albion, IN; and his son Earl Ray Tipton Jr. of Albion. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; lots of great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; along with a niece and two nephews.
