He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Bering and May Bering (Matthieson); and his siblings, Harry Bering, Dorothy Rhines and Kathy Fox.
He is survived by: his spouse Dorris Jean Mullins; his children, Bobby L. Bering (Dana) of Columbia City, Jennifer A. Speaker (Doug) of Kendallville and Tina M. Stringfellow (Todd) of Wawaka; his grandchildren, Brandy Hatton (Steve), Kylee Mead (Austin), Shelby Bering, Kelly Holst (Kevin), Allison Smith (Devin), Jordan Speaker, Jacob Stringfellow (Sarah) and Cole Bering (Mikayla Whitehurst); his great grandchildren, Sierra, Skyler, Lane, Landen, Haley, Briana, Aspen and Brysen; and his siblings, Samuel Bering, Gerry Bering, Ilene Hawley (David) and Judy Patton (John).
Those attending the visitation or funeral are required to wear a mask covering the nose and mouth.
