He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Vance and Marie Vance (Libersa); and his siblings, Colette Vance, Colleen Vance, Phillip Vance and Gisele Vance.

He is survived by: his wife Dixie Vance of Albion; his children, Veronica Johnson (Eric) of Albion and Marc Vance (Masie) of Kendallville; his grandchildren, Benjamin Johnson of Albion, Bob Johnson (Morgan) of Albion, Kayla Vance (Zach Boyle) of Ft. Wayne and Matthew Vance; his great grandchildren, Cole Johnson, Elara Boyle and Phoebe Boyle; and his sister Michele Hicks of Hamilton.
