It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph William Day of Akron, Indiana, born in Hammond, Indiana, who passed away on January 13, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard E. "Dick" Day and Julia "Judy" Ann Day (Bidwell); his son Patrick Day; his brothers-in-law, Joey Madeford and Jim Vandermark; and his stepmother Georgia Ann Day.
He is survived by: his wife Marianne Day of Akron; his sister Pam Vandermark of Akron; his niece Leann (John Carr) of Akron; his nephews, David (Angela Madeford) of Akron, Scott (Tiffany Cooksey) and Kevin (Carrie Cooksey) of Silver Lake; and his stepbrothers, David (Caren Delp) and John (Jennifer Delp). He is also survived by great great nephews and nieces; cousins.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Henry Township Volunteer Fire Department or the Akron Cemetery Association.
