He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome C. Hartzler and Annetta E. Hartzler (Flook); and his siblings, Todd Hartzler and Cindy Hartzler. He is survived by: his wife Deb Hartzler of Akron; his children, Diana (Steven Baumgart) of Akron, Jennifer (Nathan Shewman) of Akron and Jerid Hartzler of Roann; his grandchildren, Hailey, Wade, Dustine, Eli, Marley, Vance, Lilyana and Eilira; his sister Angie (Matt Gast) of Akron; and his nieces and nephews, Amanda Powell, Clayton Riffett and Rayanna Roxberry.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hartzler Funeral Home (305 W Rochester St, Akron, IN 46910). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Henry Township Fire Department or to the Athens (Hoover) Cemetery.
