He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Dotson and Elva Dotson (Dotson); his wives, Rebecca Lester and Kathy Dotson; and his daughter Deborah "Debbie" Dotson.
He is survived by: his daughter Sharon (Mitch Steele) of North Manchester; his grandsons, Matthew and Mark Murray; and his half-sisters, Joyce Maynard of Kentucky and Karen Wolford of Kentucky.
