He was predeceased by: his father Michael E. Mintern; his brother Michael S. Mintern; and his brother-in-law Andrew Grom. He is survived by: his sons, Alan Mintern (Tiffany) and Stephen Mintern; his mother Shirley Mintern; his grandchildren, Morgan, Zander and Alana; his sisters, Wendy Jo Grom and Wanda Rottmann; his sister-in-law Sally Mintern; and the mother of his children Cathy Mintern. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
