He was predeceased by: his wife Coralie Myers; his parent Era Cox; and his siblings, Martha, Elbert and Nadine.
He is survived by: his son Donnie Ray Cox; his stepchildren, Sue Aker (Jack), Becky Baumbach (Gary) and Terry Hefley (Carol); his grandchildren, Jason Aker (Renee), Shannon Guyer (Tim), Larry Baumbach and Leigh Marley; and his sister Erlene Thorn (Wayne). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Christ Community Church Missions have been suggested.
