It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Phyllis Jean Cox of Zeigler, Illinois, born in Dayton, Ohio, who passed away on December 11, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Blades and Myrtle Blades (Meeks); her son Lt. Colonel Joseph; and her siblings, Judy Blades, Barbara Long, Ted Blades and Karl Blades.
She is survived by: her daughters, Denise Hoey (Jim) of Royalton, IL and Kimberly Melton (Glenn) of Alamogordo, NM; her daughter-in-law Gina Bates (Doug); her grandchildren, Matt Hoey, Rebekah Cannon (Josh), Victoria Munaretto, Suzanne Munaretto, Madison Bates and Maggie Bates; her great grandchild Parker Hoey; her siblings, Tom Blades, Don Blades, Hazel Wylie and Carolyn Nelson; her sister-in-law Caroline Ratcliffe; and her daughters, Diana Cheatham (Richard), Donna Muir, Gayle Greathouse and Beverly Hall (Melvin). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19, private services will be held with interment in Zeigler Cemetery, Zeigler, IL.
