We bid farewell to Thomas Van Tholen of Yorkville, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 5, 2025 at the age of 71. Thomas Van touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Van Tholen and Henry Van Tholen; his brothers, John Van Tholen (late Alice) and Ronald Van Tholen (Christine); and his brother-in-law David Cook (Debbie).

He is survived by: his wife Valerie Van Tholen; his sons, Chad Van Tholen (Jill), Nathan Van Tholen (Lori) and Brett Van Tholen (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Brock, Troy, Boden, Blake, Micah, Lorelai, Bryce and Shepard; his siblings, Peter Van Tholen (Winifred), Henry Jr. Van Tholen (Nancy), Robert Van Tholen (late Jo Ann), Kenneth Van Tholen (Linda), Grace Dryden (Robert), William Van Tholen (Ginny), Margaret Cramer (Ronald), James Van Tholen (Beth) and George Van Tholen (Mary); his siblings-in-law, Steve Cook (Gale), Kenneth Cook (Janet) and Cheryl Nelson (Don); and his stepsons, Robert Gavros and Timothy Harris. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Knollcrest Funeral Home (1500 S Meyers Rd, Lombard, IL 60148). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
