With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary M. Brummel of Yorkville, Illinois, born in Aurora, Illinois, who passed away on April 1, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her sister Martha Schomer; her parents, Herbert J. DeKing and Margaret DeKing; her in-laws, Joseph and Lillian Brummel; and her grandson Zachary Burks.

She is survived by: her daughter Margaret DeKing (Goodendorf); her husband Kenneth J. Brummel, Sr. of Yorkville, IL; her children, Missy Burks (Brett), Ken Brummel (Natalie) and Kris Brummel (Amanda); her grandchildren, Jacob Burks, Cailyn Brummel, Charlotte Brummel, Lily Geltz, Mia Geltz, Ian Geltz, Morgan Bomba (Kurt), Nick Harrison (Katelyn), Josh Harrison (Caitlyn) and Lindsay Harrison; her great grandchildren, Ivy Bomba, Gus Bomba, Jackson Harrison and Brooke Harrison; her sister Joyce Fichtel (Ron) of Hillpoint, WI; her sisters-in-law, Marcia Fraser, Sharon Kline and Joy Harker (Dan); and her nephew Eric Fichtel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
