He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis H. Thurow and Helen Thurow; and his brother-in-law Shirley (Jim Rathe). He is survived by: his wife Marge Thurow of Yorkville; his children, Gayle Thanepohn (Doug) of Yorkville, Larry Thurow (Cathy) of Monticello, Karen Monkemeyer (Bruce) of Newark and Marsha Webster (Jon) of Allerton, IA; his grandchildren, Karla Leidecker (Rory), Philip Thanepohn (Susan), Lisa Troxel (Chris), Laura Morel (Nate), Heather Kibler (Sam), Ian Thurow, Kimberly Severson (Dave), Ty Webster (Carrie) and Jessica Moore (Jacob); and his great grandchildren, Anna, Greta, Owen, Benjamin Leidecker, Leah Thanepohn, Julia, Ava, Matthias Troxel, Marilyn, Kelsey, Olson Morel, Landri, Kane Webster and Ky Moore.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Nelson Funeral Home - Yorkville (1617 N Bridge St, Yorkville, IL 60560). A masonic service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Nelson Funeral Home (1617 N Bridge St, Yorkville, IL 60560). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sable Grove Presbyterian Church (5021 Wheeler Rd, Yorkville, IL 60560).
