It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James D. Meier (Yorkville, Illinois), born in Plano, Illinois, who passed away on April 9, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles W. and Lena B. Meier, Jr. (Spiess); his former wife Barbara; his daughter Tina Smith; and his siblings, Richard, Dwayne, Eugene, Ronald, Delores Allen, Charlene Babbitt, Beverly, Marilyn and Gloria Meier.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila A. Mack of Yorkville, IL; his children, Tammie Johnson (Anthony) of Sandwich, IL, Traci Lynch (Tim) of Cumberland, RI, Teri Hagedorn (Dan) of Glencoe, IL and Jim Meier, Jr. (Melissa) of Leland, IL; his stepson Jeffrey Vines (Shana) of Sugar Grove, IL; and his siblings, Kenneth Meier (Melva) of Lakewood, CO, William Meier (Judi) of Carthage, IL and Diane Borino of Newport Richey, FL.. He is also survived by his nineteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Plano Reaper Sports Boosters.
