He was predeceased by: his parents, Byron Adkins and Iva Adkins (McCain); his wife Harriett "Dee" McCaslin; his siblings-in-law, Charles and Eva McCaslin (Harriett "Dee" Adkins); his friend Alba Brunettin; his son Michael Adkins; his granddaughter Michelle Drury; and his siblings, Charles, Roy, Howard, Glen Adkins, Viola Duncan, Lillie Markham, Edith Moomey, Rosa Scoughton and Ruby Moore.
He is survived by: his children, Melody Labhart (Michael) of Newark and Jeffrey Adkins (Wendy) of Yorkville; his grandchildren, Amy Grewer (Tim) of Aurora, Kevin Drury (Rhonda) of Montgomery, Renee Heckel (Tim) of Indianapolis, IN, Mendy Blackwell, Krystal Kniola (Michael) of Valparaiso, IN and Brent Labhart (Jessica) of Newark; and his brothers, James Adkins of Pana, John Adkins (Pauline) of Monroe, WI and Kenneth Adkins of Sandwich.
