It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alvin Philip Spera of Yorkville, Illinois, who passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Spera and Phyllis Spera (Sawicke); and his sister Dori Lukes. He is survived by: his wife LaVerne Mewes; his children, Ellen Halmagyi (Jeff), Elaine Spera of Serena, IL, Donna Brown (Tim) and Rick Spera (Lisa) of Oswego, IL; his grandchildren, Jaimie Silva (Jesse), Amy Spera (Jim), Brett Hornstein (Thana), Jessica Wyckoff (Hunter) and Hunter Spera; and his children, Easton, Wrenley Silva, Dajche Spera, Laciey Kempiak, Zayda, Zahra, Emran Hornstein, Charlotte and Eleanor Wyckoff.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Helmar Lutheran Church (11935 Lisbon Rd, Newark, IL 60541).
