It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Greg Smith of Xenia, Illinois, born in Olney, Illinois, who passed away on November 6, 2020, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Asher, Gurney, Olive Smith, Glen and Angie Songer; and his brother-in-law Jim McCarty.

He is survived by: his parents, Sheldon Smith and June Smith (Songer) of Xenia; his wife Theresa Smith of Xenia; his children, Evan Smith (Jenna) of Xenia, Adam Smith (Kylie) of Flora and Anna Land (Mitch) of Xenia; his grandchildren, Audrey, Carter Smith, Liam Smith, Blair and Knox Land; his brothers, Tim Smith (LaDonna) of Xenia and Dan Smith (Lisa) of Bloomington; and his siblings-in-law, Cheryl McCarty, Gary Timm (Jane), Mary Cook (Steve) and Larry Timm (Becky). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Those attending are requested to please wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

Memorial donations are suggested to a college scholarship fund that will be established in the name of Gregory A. Smith to benefit students pursuing a career in agriculture.

I have been fortunate thru the years to have had Greg and the Family as a customer for our RoGator products. Greg was always such a Gentleman to deal with. He was courteous, fair and treated Sales People like myself with respect. He was smart and I will miss his smile and his demeanor.
