Fred Ayers Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Fred Ayers of Xenia, Illinois, who passed away on February 1, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard E. Ayers and Irene M. Ayers (Lederhouse); his grandson Vernon Vaughn; his brother-in-law Charlie Paden; his mother-in-law Nancy Waggoner; and his niece Sharron Paden.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Ayers of Xenia; his children, Frederick "Rick" E. Ayers of Xenia, Thomas "Tom" H. Ayers of Xenia, John D. Waggoner (Jean M.) of Lawrenceville, Georgia and MaryKay Branch of Xenia; his grandchildren, Jason Waggoner (Emily) of Lawrenceville, Beth Hagens (Joel) of Tamarack, Joel Waggoner (Kathy) of Lawrenceville, Joseph Waggoner (Becca) of Wyncote, Lee Ayers (Michelle) of Racine, Nathan Ayers (Rebecca) of Michigan, Adam Bensley of Wisconsin, Katherine Ayers of Xenia and Crystal Dolan (Tim) of Crystal Lake; his sister Susan Paden of Old Washington, Ohio; and his pet Boots. He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and at 3:00 PM at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home (500 N Main St, Flora, IL 62839).
Rather than purchasing flowers or other gift items, the family suggests the most meaningful way to honor Fred's memory is through a donation to the Xenia Volunteer Fire Department or Ronald McDonald House Charities.
