He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Newton and Beulah Newton (Montooth); his siblings, Page Newton, Milton Newton and Lynda Jane Dunn; and his granddaughter Heather Newton.
He is survived by: his former wife Patsy Kitterman; his children, Randy Newton (Chris) of Toulon, Joni Oberlander (Greg) of Peoria, Veronica Gail Maher (Robert) of Princeville and Janet Quiring of Kansas; his brother Clemet Newton (Judy); and his brother-in-law Bernard Dunn. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
