She was predeceased by: her pets, Zeus and Sox. She is survived by: her adoptive mother Caroline Anderson; her husband John King; her mother Caroline Anderson of Galesburg; her stepmother Joyce Armstrong of Iowa; her children, Jeff Martin of California, Josh Martin of Iowa City, Andrea Martin of Muscatine and Robert Martin; her siblings, Cynthia Whiteeagle, Floyd Whiteeagle, Carrie Richardson, Kim Goodwin, Jaye Johnson, Jared Johnson and Jennie Bordonaro; her close friend Allison McNaught; and also Emma Davis of Wyoming. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She worked at the Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in their Alzheimer's unit for several years.
