He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl LaVern "Jake" and Lola Mae Barker (Turner) of Wyanet; his wife Donna Helle; his daughters, Anjee Thorp (Dan) of Bridgeport, Clarissa Coley (Ryan) of Wake Forest and Lisa Barker of Wyanet; his grandchildren, Addi, Emma, Asa, Lucy Thorp, Brynn and Brooklyn Coley; and his siblings, Beverly Odell (Tom) of Wyanet and Everett Barker (Terrie) of McAllen, Texas. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorials may be directed to the Evangelical Covenant Church Benevolent Fund.
