He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank L. Eckhardt and Carrie R. Eckhardt; his wife Vera E. Hollandsworth Eckhardt; his son Frank E. Eckhardt, Sr.; his son-in-law Larry Dawes; his granddaughter Cassandra Dawes; and his siblings, Jean K. Eckhardt White (William L. White), Norman F. Eckhardt, Carolyn Eckhardt Thatcher and Fred Allen Eckhardt.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Dawes of Granite City, IL, Brenda Root (Steve) of Granite City, IL, Dennis Eckhardt (Jeanne) of Staunton, IL and Scott Eckhardt (Sherry) of Staunton, IL; his grandchildren, Frank E. Eckhardt, Jr., Tonya Ritter (Patrick), Phillip Jaime (Brittany), Emily Eckhardt (Jessie Smith), Aubree Eckhardt and Gregory Eckhardt; his great grandchildren, Adrianna Dawes, Brianne Jaime, Levi Eckhardt, Roman Ritter, Eliza Jaime, Avery Jaime, Olivia Jaime and Mikayla Eckhardt; and his great great grandchild Harrison Dawes. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
