He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas R. Steele and Mary Steele (Sullivan); and his siblings, Carleton "Junior" Steele, Ronnie Steele, Bonnie Allen and Marjorie Engelken.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Gulley; his children, Lora Connor (David) of Worden, IL and Eddie Steele (Theresa) of Collinsville, IL; his grandchildren, Rebecca Gilbert (Zach) of Carbondale, IL, Chadwick Connor of Worden, IL, Blake Steele of Glen Carbon, IL and Wade Steele; his great grandchild Henry Gilbert of Carbondale, IL; and his sister Mary Sue Payne of Doniphan, MO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
