Steven G.J. Xagas Obituary
Steven GJ Xagas, 72, of Woodstock, IL passed away peacefully on January 29, 2024. Steven was preceded in death by his parents Gus and Carol (Schneider) Xagas and his younger brother Jon Xagas. He is survived by his son Jacob Xagas, his two grandsons, former wife and good friend Yvonne Xagas, Daughter-in-law Stacey Xagas, and brother Randy Xagas and wife Sandy (Beebe), three nieces, a nephew, among many other dear friends and family.
To Steven family was the pinnacle of existence and he had unparalleled love for his family. He was a generous and compassionate man of many talents not the least of which involved his work as a youth counselor, skills in martial arts and kickboxing, award winning poet and staple of the community. He was the CEO and founder of Xagas & Associates of which he worked for many years as a Corporate Headhunter.
He showed much generosty in his business years providing help and guidance with Y2K, business matters, and psychological guidance as well accompanied with his work during the Covid pandemic by providing deliveries from the food pantry to the elderly in his community and continued to care for his neighbour Karen afterward while regularly providing food deliveries to those in need.
Steven loved music, especially the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, John Mellencamp, and Frank Sinatra. He also loved sports and sports collectibles, writing, martial arts and action movies, and found fulfillment in discussing religion and psychology.
The gathering and service for Steven is Wednesday February 7, 2024 at Yurs Funeral Home in St. Charles. Gathering and rememberence will be from 3pm to 7pm. The sevice will be held at 7pm.
