He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings-in-law, Joan, John, Jim, Paul and Kathleen; his daughters, Mary Mapes (Brandon), Catherine Borkowski (Daniel) and Julia Gottschalk (Chase); his father James F.; and his grandfather James of Chicago's Monadnock Building.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A prayer was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Schneider Leucht Merwin Cooney Funeral Home (1211 N Seminary Ave, Woodstock, IL 60098). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (312 Lincoln Ave, Woodstock, IL 60098). A burial was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 12:45 PM at the All Saints Catholic Cemetery (700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim's honor to St. Mary's Catholic School (https://www.stmary-woodstock.org) would be appreciated as flowers fade but a Catholic education remains.
