Betty Joan Butkus Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Joan Butkus of Woodstock, Illinois, born in Vandalia, Illinois, who passed away on September 17, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl E. Hunter and Edna Hunter (Scott); her husband James Donald Butkus; her son Scott (Kim); and her siblings, Mary Ellen Hunter, Carolyn Pinney, Judy Seaton and Scott Hunter.

She is survived by: her children, J. Steven (Rosemarie), Susan (Michael) and Nancy; and her grandchildren, Audrey (Mike), Claire, Jen, Jamie, Thomas, Hannah, Katie and Jake. She is also survived by three other children, her sister Joyce Staff, her eight grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan's honor to the Arlington Heights Nurses Club Scholarship Fund at 1801 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005 or the American Lung Association.
