He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Planas and Concepción Fernandez Planas; and his brother Francisco. He is survived by: his wife Acela Fernandez; his daughters, Vanessa Sailor (Brian) and Nicole Scharrenberg (Jim); his grandchildren, Alexandra, Mia, Nicholas and Isabella; his siblings, José and Concepción Cepero; and his brother-in-law Faustino Fernandez. He is also survived by his wife, daughters, grandchildren and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
