He is survived by: his wife Vada Ann Peterson; his children, Mandy Corbett (Ryan) of Wheaton, IL and Michael Grant (Sara) of Brookfield, IL; his grandchildren, Brendan, Justin Corbett, Lauren, Ethan Grant and Camryn Kleebauer; his sister Linda Courts (John) of La Grange, IL; his sister-in-law June Gorman of Woodridge, IL; and his nieces and nephews, Julie Scheidegger, Jennifer, Kathie, Tim Courts and Aaron Sellers. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.

“Dave & I had similar paths at Madden. Though we had different styles, we always got along well. I felt that the biggest difference between us was his remarkable attention to detail and his deep knowledge of the nuances and intricacies of the job. That quality was his hallmark and served him well in his work after leaving Madden. He never was one to be very emotive in our relationship and so I can't tell you how pleased I was when he gave me a big hug when we met at the Madden 50th reunion.”
