It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Donald G. Verhines Sr. of Woodlawn, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on September 22, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Carter Verhines and Marie Verhines (Bartlett); and his brother Robert Dean Verhines of DeKalb. He is survived by: his children, Don Verhines Jr. (Nancy) of Woodlawn, Bob Verhines of Mt Vernon, Bill Verhines of Pennsylvania and Donna Chadbourne (Scott) of Iuka; his grandchildren, Jaclyn, Steven, Bronson, Dawson, Kinzie, Sydney, Sadie, Sophie, Miriam, Jeremy, Rebecca and Jacob; and his sister Mary Wheeler of Springfield. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and life long friends.
