He is survived by: his parents, Mark Carter and Jaclyn Kahrhoff; his brother Sam Carter of Woodlawn; his grandfathers, Thomas Kahrhoff Woodlawn and Louis Carter of Hillsboro, Missouri; his aunts, Nicole (Cole), Kahrhoff (Louie Smith) of Woodlawn, Pam Gilomen of Fredericktown, Christina Luthy (Joe) of Hillsboro and April Rose of Woodlawn; his uncle Chad Eversgerd of O'Fallon, Illinois; and his cousins, Joshua Meredith (Rebecca "Becca" Copple), Hunter Meredith, Brittany Stanton (Jacob) of Eureka, Missouri and Emery Stanton of Eureka. He is also survived by his family and friends.

Memorials may be made in Dean's honor to the family, in care of Jaclyn Kahrhoff.
