He was predeceased by: his son Wesley Keith Shewmake; his siblings, Parks Shewmake and Jackie Young; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Dee, Carla Rossio, Morris Kinison and Rachel Kinison.
He is survived by: his children, Victoria Higgins (Jim) of Decatur and Scott Shewmake (Sue) of Oxford, Florida; his grandchildren, Steven Higgins (Sarah) of Florrisant, Nathan Higgins (Angie) of New Baden, Ashley Hilderbrand of Fairfield, Jacob Shewmake (Angie) of Olney, Kayla Starwalt (Roby) of Olney and Jace Shewmake of Olney, Illinois; his sisters, Charlotte Moore of Monroe and Mary Ellen Allen (Donald) of Mattoon, Illinois; and his sister-in-law Cathy Bevis (Larry) of Fairfield, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Memorials may be made in Arthur's honor to the Woodlawn Christian Church or Woodlawn Veterans Memorial.
