He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Swanson and Emma Swanson (Peterson); and his siblings, Robert, Violet, Mildred and Marvin.

He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Bryon Swanson, Pam Swanson, Lorraine Huddleson (Bill) and Jill Spellman (Jim); and his grandchildren, Anthony, Ave', Andrea, Apasia, Amanda, Angela, Lucas, Matthew and Daniel. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
