He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Thomas and Delores Smith, Sr. (Sorgea); his wife Cheri Mae Ralston; his former wife Shirley Smith (Wittman); his grandchildren, Heather Winslow and Thomas James Saffel; and his brother Norman.
He is survived by: his children, Tina Smith of Staunton, Michelle (Michael Coleman), Connie (Randy Hannis), Patience Smith of Edwardsville and David Smith of Collinsville; and his brother Rick Smith of Hamburg. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren, an expectant great grandchild.
Memorials are suggested to the family with checks payable to Tina Smith or Michelle Coleman and will be accepted at the funeral home.
