Though Thomas may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Dean and Zora Lee Barcum (Foster); his wife Katherine L. Vaughn; his brother Bill Smith; and his grandson Richey Barcum.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Barcum of Wood River, Richard Barcum (Laurie) of Prairietown and Erin Skeens of Wood River; and his sisters, Mary "Sissy" Farnsworth of Redding, CA, Carol Fowler of Redding, CA and Patricia Ebmeier of Carlyle, IL.. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Marks Mortuary (633 E Lorena Ave, Wood River, IL 62095). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Mt. Hope Cemetery (9401 W Main St, Belleville, IL 62223).
