With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Elaine Taylor (Wood River, Illinois), born in Highland, Illinois, who passed away on February 14, 2025 at the age of 67. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Shirley Elaine Taylor to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Thomas Howard Taylor Jr.; and her brother Donnie Gaines. She is survived by: her children, Jenny Norman and Thomas Taylor III; her grandchildren, Taylor Norman, Thomas Taylor IV, William Norman III and Damien Wiseman; her stepmother Marjorie Gaines; her brothers, James Overbey (Tina) and John Overbey; and her close friend Terry Markel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Marks Mortuary (633 E Lorena Ave, Wood River, IL 62095). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Friendship General Baptist Church (325 W Main St, East Alton, IL 62024).
