He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Tommy Krpan. He is survived by: his parents, Raymond Mercer of Godfrey and Jane K. Majovsky (Linkogle) of East Alton; his sons, Andrew Ray Mercer and Michael Thomas Mercer; and his mother-in-law Josephine Krpan of Wood River. He is also survived by several cousins and extended family.

Memorials may be made to masses or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
