He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Bort and Edith Bort (Kirkwood); his wife Joyce Verlee Bort (Heuer); his daughter Teri Ann Bort; his brother Bruce Bort (Irene); and his siblings-in-law, Janelle Heuer, Donald Heuer (Corleen), Herbert Lesemann and Rev. Walter DeMoss.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Bort (Sabrina) of East Alton and Cara Stearns (Kelly) of Edwardsville; his grandchildren, Sam, Spencer, Simon Stearns and Heather Brown; his siblings, Fred Bort (Sylvia) of Prairietown and Helena DeMoss of Aurora, IL; and his sisters-in-law, JoAnn Lesemann of Dorsey and Janette Heuer of Edwardsville. He is also survived by friends, especially his children and grandchildren.
