He was predeceased by: his parents, Domenico Merli and Giovannia Merli; and his sister Jill Fox. He is survived by: his wife Tena Merli of Wood River, IL; his children, Daniel Merli Jr. (Marsha) of Bethalto, Dennis Merli of East Alton, IL, Kathi Spears of St. Louis, MO, Donna Ripp (Eric) of Wildwood, MO and Jenny Dawson (David) of St. Louis, MO; his stepsons, Andrew Main of Wood River, IL, Jason Main (Traci) of Rosewood Heights, IL and Jeremy Bryant of Wood River, IL; his grandchildren, Christopher (Angie), Jeremy (Leslie), Amber (Philip), Danielle (Daniel), Stephanie, Dakota (Rosemary), Evan, Jacob, Deidre, Brandon and Joshua (Emily); his stepgrandchildren, Jessica (Andrew), Ragen, Kanbron (Tiffany), Keeton, Andrew Jr. (Abigail), Ketra (Shawn) and Gabi; his children-in-law, Lori, Deborah Merli and Jeffrey Quinn; and his former wife Stella Merli. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren.
In liue of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
