He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Hoffstetter and Ida Hoffstetter (Kohlenberg); his wife Esther Aljets; and his brothers, Lee and Dean Hoffstetter.
He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth; his son-in-law Kevin Saul of Wood River; his sons, Charles Hoffstetter Jr. (Paula) of Dover, Tennessee, Glen Hoffstetter (Sylvia) of Falcon, Colorado and Van Hoffstetter of Godfrey, Illinois; his grandchildren, Nathan Hoffstetter, Jared, Aaron Saul, Samantha Prentice (Tyler) and Michele Beardsley (Tyler); his great grandchild Andrew Parrott; and his siblings-in-law, Ruth Kuethe, Mary Bixen of Alton and Frederick Aljets of Holiday Shores.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River.
