With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Benny Badgett (Wood River, Illinois), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Benny left this world on March 2, 2025 at the age of 79, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gary Badgett and Maxine Badgett (Fisher); and his brother Gary Badgett. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer (Dave Curtis), Stephanie (Matt McBride) and Nathan; his daughter-in-law Stephanie Badgett of Edwardsville; his grandchildren, Luke, Amanda, Garrett, Peyton, Jack, Paige and Bo; his siblings, Judy Dunn of Mt. Vernon and Mike Badgett of Mt. Vernon; and his sister-in-law Carolyn Badgett of Mt. Vernon. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Pitchford Funeral Home (2555 Vaughn Rd, Wood River, IL 62095). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Roxana High School Wrestling Program and will be accepted at the funeral home.
