He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Carlton and Mary E. Carlton (Martin); his wife Catherine Elizabeth Hoaglin; his grandson Jonah Naylor; his siblings, John E., Delbert Berdette Carlton, Dorlene Hendrickson, Lily Mae Waggoner and Edna Johnson; and his son-in-law Mike Cobbel.
He is survived by: his children, Darren Carlton (Robin) of East Alton, Robin Cobbel of Wood River and Cathy Carlton of East Alton; and his brother Merlin W. Carlton of Barry, IL.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Louis Children's Hospital Research in memory of Jonah Naylor.
