He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Schultze and Florence Schultze; and his stepmother Eleanor Koenig. He is survived by: his wife Maureen Schultze; his children, Richard Jr. (Heather), Robert and Kathleen; his grandchildren, Ricky (Brittany), Zac (Mia), Amanda, Tyler, Ryan, Kira and Jenna; his great grandchildren, Elijah, Kenze, Ayden and Kyden; and his siblings, Robert (Anne) and Susan (late Rich).
