With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Ekkela (Winthrop Harbor, Illinois), born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, who passed away on November 17, 2018 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Franklin McClusky; and her siblings, Beatrice Rasch (John) and Ted Streblow (Mary Ellen). She is survived by: her parent Helen McClusky (Sucharda); her husband Dale Ekkela; her sons, David Ekkela (Susan) of Pleasant Prairie, Mark Ekkela (Erica) of Salem and Eric Ekkela of Pleasant Prairie; her grandchildren, Autumn, Christina and Jonathan; her sister-in-law Mary Ellen Streblow; and her pet Maggie. She is also survived by other relatives, friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
