He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Belle Weis and Harry Weis; his wife Penny Weis; his children, Deborah Carlson (Todd), Carol Felsenthal (Geoff), Timothy Ramenofsky (Piyanad) and Casey MacKenzie (David); and his grandchildren, Zoe, Wyatt Carlson, Charlie, Hannah Felsenthal, Harper and Evan MacKenzie.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ernie's name to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
