It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Minerva Cano of Winnebago, Illinois, who passed away on January 20, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Sixto Hernandez and Juanita Hernandez (Prado); her daughter Norma Linda Cano; and her siblings, Robert Hernandez, Neal Bryant, Sixto Hernandez Jr., Daniel Hernandez, Shirley Hernandez and Delia Hernandez.

She is survived by: her husband Pedro Cano Jr.; her children, Jaime Cano (Angela), Eliazar Cano (Kathleen), Richard Cano (Lysa) and Theresa Mackenzie (Craig); her grandchildren, Alejandra Cano (Zakk), Lola Cano, Eloy Cano (Holly), Justin Cano (Kaylah), Jaryn Cano, Daniel Ponce, Bryan Cano, Jamin Cano (Jennifer) and Cruz Cano; and her siblings, Lorenzo Hernandez (Victoria), Eduardo Hernandez, Eloy Hernandez (Connie), Vicenta Nieto, Eloisa Bryant, Noelia H. Mata (Ron), Diana Snodgrass (Robert), Melissa Jordan (Leon) and Dona Smith. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the St. Mary Church (322 Waterman St, Sycamore, IL 60178). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
